The Field House at Hinkston Park
Waukegan Park District was selected as a finalist for the Chicago Building Congress 2007 Merit Award. The 84,000 S.F. community center houses six full size basketball/volleyball courts, multi level fitness center, elevated walking & running track not to mention a branch of the Waukegan Public Library. The building is full of environmentally friendly design features. Skylights and large glass windows used throughout the building flood the Field House with natural light for beauty, plus energy conservation, effective ventilation and increased productivity. W. B. Olson, Inc. is proud to be a part of the renaissance effort to revitalize the City of Waukegan through the construction of Waukegan Park District's- Field House at Hinkston Park.
New Ravinia Dining Pavilion
Bravo to Ravinia Festival for the elegantly appointed new dining pavilion completed for the upcoming 2007 festival season. W.B. Olson, Inc. has delivered the building, utilizing a fast track schedule over the winter months, yet maintaining the quality of construction required by an organization like Ravinia. The new dining pavilion houses four banquet rooms, a café, and two large commercial kitchens. Look for the new dining pavilion under the stars at Ravinia this season.
W. B. Olson, Inc. Adapts Warehouse Into LEED Silver Certified Building
W.B. Olson, Inc., VOA Architects, & Kinowerks have teamed up to bring the movie making process to Chicago. Kinowerks engaged W.B. Olson, Inc. in a project that involves the adaptive reuse of an existing warehouse into a post production film studio. At its completion, the building will be a LEED Silver Certified building as specified by the U.S. Green Building Council. The facility will include SMART building technology, house a movie viewing studio, sound recording studio and all the other behind-the-scenes technical elements required to create movies for your viewing pleasure. This is another project where W.B. Olson, Inc. steps outside of the box to bring quality construction to a wide range of customer needs.
