Another LEED Certified Project for W.B. Olson, Inc.
Mumford Hall - The Salvation Army The Mumford Hall Conversion Project for the School of Officer Training- Salvation Army is our most recently completed LEED Certified Project (certification pending) with the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). The LEED Silver project required the conversion of an old dormitory building into a living resource center for Salvation Army Cadets. The facility includes fully furnished apartments, a full service kitchen, dining hall and conference center. This LEED Silver project utilizes cost efficient strategies such as superior insulation, air barriers, LED lighting, motion sensor lighting controls and efficient air handlers. The project also included a new central chiller plant for the entire campus. The project recently received a 2009 AIA – NE Chapter - Honor Award.
New Village Hall Incorporates Sustainable Design.
Village of Wheeling – Village Hall The new 54,200 S.F. Village Hall structure stands prominently on Dundee Road, Wheeling, IL. The new village hall was constructed utilizing a curved aluminum curtain wall, the two story lobby with extensive wood paneling, terrazzo floors, perimeter lighting penetrating the interior space. The building incorporates many sustainable design elements. Consolidation of Municipal Operations, Optimum Work Flows, Space & Storage: all part of the New Wheeling Village Hall.
New Community Center for Deerfield Park District
Sachs Recreation Center Indoor Tennis, Gymnastics, Basketball, Indoor Running Track, Fitness Center, Indoor Pool & Dance Studio are all part of the new Sacks Recreation Facility in Deerfield, Illinois. The 100,000 S.F. building sat vacant for over three years. Deerfield Park District stepped in to convert this valuable property into a useful recreation facility for its community.
